About Me

My name is Kelly & I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education for 7 years. I have a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Southern Illinois University. My experiences are primarily with Preschool Age Children (ages 3-5), but I've dabbled in Infant Care and Two Year Olds as well. My philosophy of education can be summed up by a Chinese Proverb: "I hear and I forget; I see and I remember; I do and I understand."

When I'm not at school, I'm spending time with my husband-to-be, Kyle, or my furbabies, Ally the beagle, or Tucker and Sammie, the cats. I enjoy being outdoors, being creative, and reading. Most of my free time is spent creating classroom materials, or reading up on current Early Childhood practice. I feel like I can never learn or read enough about this profession.

My goal with this blog is to share my experience, knowledge, and crazy ideas. I am hoping maybe a few new teachers to this profession will stumble upon this blog and find something they didn't know and put it to good use.
